Delivering Sustainable Education Services
Working with local authorities to drive down costs and raise achievement in schools and settings.
Babcock is the UK’s largest integrated education support services provider, and we work with schools, academies, multi-academy trusts, teaching school alliances, UTCs, local authorities and government departments.
Babcock is a line of business with the Babcock International Group and is a FTSE 250 company.
Our Mission is to improve outcomes for all children and young people, including the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Our model develops long-term strategic partnerships which deliver high-quality provision and improved outcomes and also reduce the cost of education services to the Local Authority.
We employ over 500 staff and education experts plus a national network of associates providing consultancy, training and management services to over 1,500 schools and academies in 50 local authorities. As education professionals, we work alongside schools and academies to pursue excellence, challenge underperformance and improve outcomes for learners.
Babcock operates from two regional hubs in England – South West and the West Midlands. In both of these hubs we work with a local authority partner to deliver education services to schools and settings.
Our regional hubs:
South West - Babcock LDP is a partnership with Devon County Council. Created in 2012, Babcock LDP brings together quality-assured expertise from the South West to help raise education outcomes and deliver effective support to schools and academies.
West Midlands - Babcock Prime is a contract with Worcestershire County Council to deliver Learning and Achievement Services for schools and settings in Worcestershire and the wider region. The contract commenced in October 2015 and includes school effectiveness, learner services and admissions.
We make a positive difference in the community
With our local authority partners in Devon and Worcestershire we have established the Devon Education Fund and Prime Education Fund which provide funding opportunities for innovative local educational projects and schemes that benefit children, young people and learners in each region.
We have committed £900k to education trust investments in our local communities. Funded projects include: helping develop young people's interpersonal and communication skills for the workplace or higher education, enhancing modern foreign language skills, motor mechanics sessions for disaffected young people at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), a series of inspiring events and programmes aimed at enthusing young people about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and a music outreach programme.
